Maykestag Solid Carbide End Mill Speedcut-Aluminium 20.00mm Z3 DIN 6535-HB Weldon

Professional 20.00mm Maykestag Speedcut-Aluminium solid carbide end mill manufactured in Type W geometry with three cutting edges, different spiral angles and a long, necked design. The uncoated cutter features a DIN 6535-HB Weldon shank and is specifically developed for high-performance machining of aluminium, with additional suitability for copper, brass and plastics.

The Maykestag Code 7950 Speedcut-Aluminium is a high-performance solid carbide end mill designed specifically for aluminium machining. Its long-series, necked configuration combines a stable solid carbide construction with three cutting edges and different spiral angles of 34°–38° to promote efficient chip evacuation, high cutting performance and excellent surface quality.

The 20.00mm version has a 20.00mm h6 Weldon shank, 104mm overall length, 38mm cutting length and 54mm neck length. Its Type W geometry, 45° head form and 0.25mm protection chamfer are designed for demanding aluminium milling applications where high material removal rates and stable cutting performance are required.

What is a long-series, necked end mill? A long-series, necked end mill provides additional reach compared with a conventional short end mill while reducing the diameter of the tool body behind the cutting section. This configuration provides clearance around deeper or recessed features while retaining the cutting geometry required for productive milling.

Why Choose Maykestag Speedcut-Aluminium?

Maykestag develops specialised solid carbide milling cutters with application-focused geometries for demanding professional machining. The Speedcut-Aluminium range is designed specifically for aluminium machining, including both cast and wrought aluminium alloys, where high cutting volumes, efficient chip evacuation and good surface quality are important.

The Code 7950 combines Type W geometry, three cutting edges, different spiral angles, a long-series necked configuration and solid carbide construction. The optimised geometry is designed to provide stable cutting performance, efficient chip transport and high material removal rates while maintaining a high-quality machined surface.

Designed for High-Performance Aluminium Milling

Aluminium machining requires a cutter geometry that can remove large quantities of material while controlling chip formation and maintaining cutting stability. The Speedcut-Aluminium&s specialised Type W geometry and variable 34°–38° spiral angles are designed specifically around these requirements.

The long, necked configuration provides additional reach and clearance around the cutting section. This makes the cutter particularly useful when machining deeper pockets, recessed features and components where additional tool clearance is required.

Yellow Identification Ring

Yellow identification ring: Maykestag uses colour coding to provide quick visual identification of tool application groups. The yellow ring identifies tools that are particularly suitable for soft aluminium. This provides a convenient visual aid when selecting the appropriate Speedcut tool for the material.

DIN 6535-HB Weldon Shank

The Code 7950 uses a DIN 6535-HB Weldon shank. The Weldon flat provides positive mechanical location in compatible toolholders and is particularly useful for secure retention during demanding milling operations.

Variable 34°–38° Spiral Angles

The Speedcut-Aluminium features different spiral angles from 34° to 38°. This variable helix geometry helps influence cutting engagement and chip evacuation while supporting smooth and stable milling performance.

Long-Series Necked Design

The long-series, necked configuration provides additional reach beyond the cutting section while reducing the tool body diameter behind the cutting area. This creates useful clearance when machining deeper pockets, recessed areas and other features requiring extended tool reach.

Three-Flute Geometry

The Z3 three-flute configuration provides a balance between cutting edge density and chip space. It is particularly suited to aluminium machining where efficient chip evacuation and productive cutting conditions are important.

Uncoated Solid Carbide

The Speedcut-Aluminium 7950 is supplied in a blank, uncoated solid carbide configuration. The tool geometry and substrate are specifically developed for aluminium and other suitable non-ferrous machining applications.

HSC and HPC Machining

The Speedcut-Aluminium range is identified for HSC (High-Speed Cutting) and HPC (High-Performance Cutting) applications. Always select cutting conditions appropriate to the workpiece, machine, toolholding system and machining strategy.

Get the Right Cutting Data  SpeedGuide Calculator

MaySpeedGuide: Maykestag recommends using the MaySpeedGuide to determine the appropriate cutting conditions for the tool, workpiece material and machining application.

Optimise aluminium milling performance. Correct cutting speed, feed rate, radial and axial engagement and machining conditions help maximise tool life, material removal and surface quality. Always select cutting data appropriate to the aluminium alloy, machine, toolholding system and application.
