Festool STF 93x178 P100 GR/100 Granat Abrasive Sheets 93x178mm P100 100-Pack

At a Glance: Professional Granat P100 abrasive sheets measuring 93 x 178 mm with Festool StickFix attachment, supplied in a bulk pack of 100 for RS 300, RS 3 and LRS 93 sanders.

Bring efficient material removal and controlled surface preparation together with the Festool STF 93x178 P100 GR/100 Granat abrasive sheets. Granat is Festool&s highly versatile professional abrasive, developed particularly for demanding modern paint systems, VOC varnishes, VOC clear coats and hard substrates. Its special coating helps prevent premature clogging by sanding residue, allowing the abrasive grain to remain active for longer and delivering an excellent combination of cutting performance, durability and consistent results. The P100 grit is an extremely useful intermediate sanding grade: coarse enough for efficient preparation and levelling, yet refined enough to begin removing the deeper sanding marks left by more aggressive grits such as P40 and P60. Granat is equally at home on repair compounds, fillers, plastics, acrylic and suitable mineral materials. Each sheet measures 93 x 178 mm and uses Festool&s convenient StickFix hook-and-loop attachment system for rapid abrasive changes on compatible sanding pads. Supplied in a professional 100-piece pack, FES499633 is ideal for busy workshops, painters, varnishers, drywall professionals and joiners who regularly use the Festool RS 300, RS 3 or LRS 93 sanding systems.

Granat - the universal abrasive with special advantages

  • P100 grit: Versatile intermediate abrasive grade for controlled stock removal and surface preparation.
  • 93 x 178 mm dimensions: Correctly sized for compatible rectangular Festool sanding systems.
  • StickFix backing: Hook-and-loop attachment makes fitting and changing abrasive sheets fast and uncomplicated.
  • Special clog-resistant coating: Helps prevent sanding residue from prematurely loading the abrasive surface.
  • VOC coating capability: Particularly suited to modern paint systems, VOC varnishes and hard base layers.
  • Universal material capability: Suitable for repair compounds, fillers, plastics, acrylic and mineral materials.
  • 100-piece pack: Provides substantial abrasive stock for professional workshops and regular sanding work.

Benefits

  • Controlled material removal: P100 provides useful cutting performance without the aggressive scratch pattern associated with very coarse abrasive grades.
  • Excellent sanding progression: Ideal for reducing P40 or P60 sanding marks before moving on to finer abrasive stages.
  • Longer usable abrasive life: Granat&s special coating helps resist clogging so the abrasive remains effective for longer.
  • Fewer abrasive changes: Improved resistance to loading reduces interruptions caused by prematurely clogged abrasive sheets.
  • Wide application range: One abrasive can tackle paint systems, varnishes, fillers, plastics, acrylic and suitable mineral materials.
  • Quick sheet replacement: StickFix attachment allows worn abrasive sheets or different grit grades to be changed within seconds.
  • Professional bulk quantity: The 100-piece pack is particularly economical and convenient for high-use professional environments.

What makes Granat different?

Modern coating systems and fillers can produce fine sanding residue that quickly fills the spaces surrounding conventional abrasive grains. As the abrasive becomes clogged, cutting performance deteriorates and unnecessary heat can develop. Granat incorporates a special coating designed to reduce this loading effect, helping more of the abrasive surface remain active for longer and providing dependable sanding performance throughout its useful life.

What does P100 mean?

P100 identifies the abrasive grit size. It sits between coarse stock-removal grits and the finer grades normally selected for final preparation and finishing. This makes P100 extremely useful for intermediate sanding where the aim is to continue levelling the surface while progressively reducing the scratch pattern produced by earlier, coarser sanding stages.

When should P100 be used?

P100 is a practical choice after initial coarse sanding with grades such as P40 or P60. It helps remove the deeper scratches left by those abrasives and produces a more refined surface before progressing to P120, P150 or another suitable finer grit depending on the material, coating system and required final finish.

Why use a progressive grit sequence?

Every abrasive grade produces its own scratch pattern. Progressing through appropriate grit stages allows each finer abrasive to remove the scratches produced by the previous grit. This creates a controlled path from initial stock removal through to surface refinement and helps avoid spending excessive time trying to remove deep coarse scratches with an abrasive that is too fine.

Festool StickFix

StickFix is Festool&s hook-and-loop abrasive attachment system. The abrasive sheet is pressed directly onto the compatible sanding pad where it remains securely held during operation. When the abrasive is worn or another grit is required, it can be peeled away and replaced quickly without clamps or separate adhesive.

Made for demanding professional surface preparation

Granat is particularly useful to painters, varnishers, drywall professionals and joiners because of the wide range of materials it can process. From modern coating systems and hard base layers to fillers, acrylic and plastics, it provides a versatile abrasive solution for professional preparation and finishing workflows.

Pro Tips

  • Use P100 after coarse sanding when the surface needs further levelling but is ready to move towards a finer finish.
  • If deep scratches from P40 remain visible, consider using P60 or another intermediate step before moving directly to P100.
  • Progress to P120, P150 or another suitable finer grit after P100 according to the material and finish required.
  • Position the abrasive accurately on the sanding pad so the entire sheet is properly supported during operation.
  • Use effective dust extraction wherever possible to help maintain a clean sanding surface and efficient abrasive performance.
  • Avoid excessive pressure. Allow the abrasive grain and the movement of the sander to perform the cutting.
  • Replace the abrasive when cutting efficiency noticeably decreases instead of increasing sanding pressure.
  • Remove loose sanding dust before moving to the next finer grit so coarse particles cannot contaminate the finer sanding stage.

How to Use

  • Switch off the sander and disconnect it from its electrical or compressed-air supply before fitting the abrasive sheet.
  • Inspect the sanding pad and make sure the StickFix surface is clean and in serviceable condition.
  • Select one STF 93x178 P100 Granat abrasive sheet from the pack.
  • Align the abrasive correctly with the sanding pad and press it firmly onto the StickFix surface.
  • Connect suitable dust extraction where applicable.
  • Place the sander flat against the workpiece and begin sanding with smooth, controlled passes.
  • Guide the machine evenly across the surface, overlapping each pass sufficiently to obtain consistent preparation.
  • Apply moderate pressure and allow the abrasive to perform the cutting rather than forcing the machine against the surface.
  • Inspect the surface regularly to ensure scratches from the previous sanding stage are being removed evenly.
  • Once the P100 sanding stage is complete, remove sanding dust before progressing to the appropriate finer Granat abrasive if further refinement is required.

Safety

  • Wear appropriate eye, hearing and respiratory protection according to the material and coating being sanded.
  • Use suitable dust extraction whenever possible, particularly when sanding coatings, fillers, plastics, mineral materials or other dust-producing surfaces.
  • Before sanding existing paints or coatings, determine whether they may contain hazardous substances and follow the appropriate occupational safety requirements.
  • Do not sand asbestos-containing or similarly hazardous materials unless the work is carried out by appropriately trained personnel using the required equipment and procedures.
  • Ensure the abrasive sheet is properly aligned and securely attached to the sanding pad before starting the machine.
  • Replace torn, damaged or excessively worn abrasive sheets before continuing work.
  • Keep hands and loose clothing clear of the sanding surface whenever the machine is operating.
  • Follow all operating and safety instructions supplied with the Festool sander, dust extractor and material or coating system being processed.
