The Maykestag Code 4837 is a precision machine tap developed for producing metric ISO internal threads in blind holes. Its 40° spiral-fluted geometry helps guide chips back towards the entrance of the hole during tapping, reducing the risk of chips collecting ahead of the cutting edges. Blind-hole tapping requires effective chip control because the chips cannot simply continue through the workpiece. The Code 4837&s 40° spiral flutes are designed to direct chips towards the hole entrance while the thread is cut.
