What does P240 mean?

When should P240 be used?

P240 is particularly useful once major levelling and intermediate sanding have already been completed. The precise grit sequence should always be selected according to the workpiece material and the coating or finish that will be applied afterwards.

P180 to P240

Moving from P180 to P240 is a useful progression when a finer scratch pattern is required. P180 performs the initial fine refinement, while P240 further smooths the surface and prepares it for demanding coating or finishing operations. This controlled progression helps produce a more consistent result than jumping directly from a substantially coarser abrasive to P240.

Why use a progressive sanding sequence?
